Hi, I’m Stacie. I’m a writer, artist, and a woman who is slowly unlearning the rules I was taught to live by.

This Substack is where I tell the truth. About church. About dating. About being a Black woman who was raised to be holy, obedient, polished, and palatable… and who now wants to be free.

I write about:

• My evolving relationship with God and the Church

• The intersection of faith, patriarchy, and white supremacy

• My dating experiences as a plus-size Black woman

• What it means to live in the gray when you were raised to only believe in black and white

These stories are personal, poetic, sometimes raw, always honest.
